Under the influence of his father and grandfather, who worked all their lives as wine merchants upon arriving to Chile, Hernán studied at the Catholic University of Chile where he received degrees in Agriculture, Viticulture and Enology.
He perfected his studies in France and afterwards, he moved to North America to join the Department of Viticulture Research of Bright Wines, the largest wine producing company in Canada, where he worked for 20 years.
In 1993, Hernán returned to Chile to establish MontGras with his brother Eduardo and Cristián Hartwig, turning his passion into a true family vocation that has been transferred throughout the years. He was President of MontGras until 2012 and is now the Technical Director of Winery.
Throughout his working life, Rodrigo Gras has set up companies with the same approach to doing business: doing things well in order to achieve excellence.
He began working at Socovesa Santiago and then managed Socovesa Valdivia. Later on, and for 5 years, he was Administration and Finance Manager at Socoicsa (Socovesa Ingeniería y Construcciones S.A.), and is currently a director of Empresas Socovesa.
He also worked as a senior financial analyst for international markets and was Manager of the International Prices and Special Projects Department at E&J Gallo Winery, in Modesto, California, USA, where he lived for 4 years.
Rodrigo Gras is also the founder and director of Cultivos Marinos Pacíficos Australes and chairman of Agrícola Mollendo, the largest Chilean export company of premium meat.
His business vision has been expressed in each of the companies in which he has participated during his career.
For 8 years he was General Manager of José F. Wines & Co. (Vinícola José Gras F. y Cía.), a Gras family company founded in the 50’s that was their first approach into the wine business.
In 1989 he founded San José Commercial Distribution Ltd. (Distribuidora Comercial San José Ltda.), a company dedicated to the wholesale distribution of groceries, wine and spirits, as well as the transport company Transporte Montserrat Ltda., in which he participated during 10 years.
At the beginning of the 90’s, he founded Solhabit Ltda., a firm dedicated to real estate business services. Previous to his current position as Vice President of Empresas Socovesa S.A., Javier was Commercial Director during 15 years.
He studied Business Management in the Austral University of Chile and has attended various marketing and sales courses and seminars.
Playing golf and his family are his greatest passions.
Felipe has over 15 years’ experience of the wine industry, having worked in wineries dedicated to the production of fine wines.
He is known to be a team-builder who brings out the best in people and he maintains close relationships with both co-workers and importers.
He served as General Manager at Viña Santa Carolina and then at Viña Errázuriz, where he participated in the Mondavi–Seña and Caliterra joint ventures.
Felipe became General Manager at MontGras in 2013 and was given the mission to lead the company into a new era.
After his arrival, he aligned the brands under the MontGras umbrella, and developed new wines and ranges - especially in the super premium segments -, in order to offer importers a broader portfolio of wines.
Together with the commercial team he led, he increased both the volume and value of the company. He has now become a member of the company's board of directors and continues to provide his valuable perspective and support for continuous improvement.
Renowned for his performance in finance and business strategies, most of Mauricio’s career has been carried out under the wing of the Gras family, where he has led the development of companies such as Socovesa, Almagro, and MontGras.
After being Director of Planfication & Development of Socovesa and General Manager of Almagro, he has been Managing Director of Grupo Empresas Socovesa, the main real estate company in Chile. At that same time, he joined the Board of Directors of MontGras of which he is minority shareholder since 2012.
One of his greatest passions – apart from golf and squash – is the film industry. That’s why, along with his partner, the well known writer and director, Alberto Fuguet, he created Cinépata, an on-line film production/archive, with focus on independent Latin American movies.
