RARE RIESLING

This Riesling was born from the inspiration of Santiago Margozzini with the first German consultant winemaker with whom he had the good fortune to work for many years in Chile. He burned in his mind the curiosity for this extraordinary variety that today is part of the MontGras Handcrafted Rare Series. From vineyards on gentle hills on the Quitralman road, D.O. Mulchen, in the Bio Bio Valley. The grapes were directly pressed to separate the juice and then ferment with selected yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Finally, it was kept in contact with its lees for five months and was subsequently bottled without contact with wood.

RARE CINSAULT

Alberto Antonini inspired by the fact that we only drink 20% of what mother nature offers us in terms of places and grape varieties. Coming from an exceptional terroir and a very elegant and refined grape almost forgotten, it has chosen to develop the Cinsault variety in MontGras Handcrafted Rare Series. From “prehistoric” vineyards owned by Mrs. Teresa Artiaga and Mr. Felipe Orellana in Coelemu,Itata valley.

The grapes and 60% of the stems were put into stainless steel tanks and then fermented with native yeasts, completing a 10-day maceration with the skins and an 11-month aging in French oak.

RARE PINOT NOIR

Pinot noir is the most wonderful variety in the world. Revealing and enhancing it has been a goal that has obsessed Adolfo Hurtado for years, who has chosen this favorite variety to be part of the MontGras Handcrafted Rare Series range.

From our most coastal vineyards in the cool Leyda Valley, on soils that come from ancient marine terraces with calcareous deposits and saline morning mists, bunches have been selected to ferment with carbonic maceration and crushed in small open vats with manual punch-downs, ending with an aging of 13 months in French oak barrels.
